Using the Insurance Workspace
Use a saved insurance scenario to review current cover, supporting evidence, needs and recommendations, then link the scenario to the SOA where insurance advice is included.
Before you start
Check the client’s fact find, existing cover and the source of any quotes or underwriting information.
Use a fictional client and synthetic insurance documents for training or screenshots. Real health information should only be handled through the practice’s approved process.
1. Create the scenario and import current cover
Open the client’s Insurance Workspace, use the plus icon and name the scenario. In the workspace, use Import from fact find to load the relevant client information. Review each insured person and the current policies and benefits. Re-importing can replace existing scenario inputs and advice, so read the warning before continuing.
2. Upload and review evidence
Open Document Upload and use Add evidence for relevant quotes, meeting notes and other supporting records. Check both reading and saving status. A document marked ready for review may still have an unsaved attachment. Use Retry upload or Retry extraction when offered. Select Review evidence with Finley once the files are ready.
3. Map extracted policies
In Map policies, expand each extracted policy and compare it with the source. Confirm the insured person. Choose whether to add it as Recommended or Alternative, or leave it as Do not add. A quote is evidence to review; selecting it does not submit an insurance application or establish that cover is in force.
4. Review client details and needs
Review the health, occupation and underwriting information for the correct person. Keep unknown matters identified as unknown. In Needs Analysis, check requirements, available provisions and calculated gaps across the relevant cover types. Pay attention to the monthly basis used for income protection and the amounts used for lump-sum cover.
5. Record recommendations and replacements
Review proposed policies, ownership, cover, costs, alternatives and the reasons for the adviser’s decision. To record a replacement, first mark the existing cover Replace and add the proposed recommendation with action Apply new. Then use Add replacement in Replacement Advice to link the eligible existing and proposed policies and record reasons, costs and benefits. Check the insured person and do not treat current and proposed cover as the same policy.
6. Save and return to the SOA
Use the Next controls to save and continue through the steps. Finish with Save & finish and resolve any error before closing. Reopen the scenario to check the saved work. When insurance is included in the SOA setup, choose this saved insurance scenario and review the information carried into the advice document.
Check before you finish
Each policy and quote is assigned to the correct insured person and owner.
Uploaded evidence is readable and saved; extracted amounts and benefit details match the source.
The scenario saves successfully and is reviewed again when linked to the SOA.
If something does not work
If no policies are waiting to be mapped, run the evidence review from Document Upload or continue if no additional policies are needed.
If a quote was mapped to the wrong person, correct the mapping before saving it into recommendations.
If closing warns of unsaved changes, keep editing unless you intend to discard them.
