Update client and partner details
Edit personal, contact, employment and advice-agreement information, then save the changes.
Before you start
Open the correct client workspace and verify the household name.
Have the information confirmed by the client and follow your practice’s process for recording sensitive information.
1. Choose the person
Select Client Details in the left menu. Choose Client or, where a partner record exists, Partner. Check whose information is on screen before selecting Edit Client or Edit Partner. The partner toggle only appears when a partner is recorded.
2. Review the edit sections
The form has Overview, Client Details, Contact Details, Health Details, Employment and Advice Agreement sections. Use Next or the section tabs to move through them. Review the current values before replacing them, particularly status, category, risk profile and adviser information.
3. Make the required updates
Enter the corrected information in the relevant section. Client ID is read-only. For contact details, check the email address carefully, as other workflows use the saved address. In Employment, check each role, employer, salary and frequency rather than assuming one role represents all current employment.
4. Save at the end
Move to Advice Agreement and select Save changes. Next moves between sections inside this edit form; it does not save the form. Wait while Saving... is shown. If a validation or service error appears, read it and correct the underlying issue before trying again. Cancel closes the form without submitting the current edit.
5. Verify both the change and the person
After a successful save the form closes and the profile refreshes. Check the updated values in the summary. If you also need to update the partner, switch to Partner and repeat the process. Changes to one person should not be assumed to have updated the other.
Check before you finish
Reopen the relevant person’s summary and check the new values.
Confirm that dates, salary frequencies and contact details match the information you intended to save.
For adviser changes, check the resulting assignment as well as the person’s details.
If something does not work
Edit is disabled while sample data is displayed: wait for live client data or report the load problem.
Missing person identifier: ask support to check the record rather than creating another household.
Missing adviser entity identifier: the form cannot save the assignment until the adviser data is corrected.
After a save error, inspect the profile before repeating the whole edit. The operation can involve more than one saved record.
