Complete and save a Fact Find

Work through household information, save records and risk responses, and download the Fact Find document.

Before you start

  • Open the correct live client record and choose Fact Find in the left menu.

  • Have the client’s information and supporting records available. Confirm the correct owner for household financial records.

1. Review the workflow

The page shows the current section, a Step counter and section buttons. Read the existing details before making changes. Some sections have editable fields on the page; others show records that you add or edit in a pop-up. The sections shown depend on the workflow returned for this client.

2. Save inline details before moving away

For editable person and health details, enter your changes and use the main Next button. On the final workflow step this button becomes Save. These controls save the supported inline fields before continuing. Back, section buttons and Refresh should not be used as a substitute for saving.

3. Add financial and household records

Where an Add button appears, select Add followed by the section name. Complete the form, check the owner and any required values, then select Save record. Check that the new row appears in the section. Repeat for separate accounts or other records rather than combining unrelated items into one entry. If you edit Goals & Objectives, save those changes with the controls in that section before continuing.

4. Complete the risk questionnaire

In the risk-profile section, review the questions and the separate client/partner panels. Use the questionnaire’s Next button to progress and calculate the result. Review the result and the agreement response requested on screen, then select Submit to save the assessment. A displayed result alone is not the final save step. Check each person’s saved outcome.

5. Generate and review the document

After saving the relevant sections, select Generate Fact Find Document. Finley requests a Word document and downloads it. Open the downloaded file and check names, owners, dates, amounts and missing sections. The generator saves the current supported inline step first, but it is not a reason to leave other records or risk results unsaved.

Check before you finish

  • Revisit important sections and confirm the values are retained.

  • Check that each intended person’s risk profile was submitted.

  • Read the generated document before filing or sharing it; a generated file does not establish that every fact was verified.

If something does not work

  • Required-field or save error: remain on the section and resolve the message.

  • Navigation disabled after editing goals: finish saving the Goals & Objectives changes.

  • Generation fails: verify that the client loads and the current step can save, then report the error if it persists.
